Caitlyn Mayer- Owner
Caitlyn is currently the Owner, and a teacher. She has studied dance for 20 years in the Back Mountain. Caitlyn is also a director/ playwright for the Theater Program. She has studied theater in college. Caitlyn is working towards her certification in Dance Education through the University of Nevada and DTW. She attends workshops and classes in NYC and has performed in an off- Broadway show in New York City under the direction of Kristen Ceasar. Caitlyn is a playwright who has had her shows performed in numerous venues. She has worked with many choreographers, directors, and vocal coaches to create her teaching style for all aspects of the Performing Arts. Caitlyn visits Broadway Dance Center in New York City monthly to continue her dance education. She has performed in over 60 theater shows with multiple theater groups and has performed dance in many different states. As of January 1, 2017 Miss Caitlyn is officially an ambassador for the National Dance Week Foundation. As of 2018 Caitlyn has become a certified YPAD teacher. Christina Metz- Founder (Theater Program Head)
Christina founded Take the Stage in February of 2010. She has always had a passion for the Performing Arts and teaching. She has over 30 years of experience in theater and has directed well over 50 shows for multiple theater companies and schools. She is now a volunteer director for the theater department sharing her expertise in character work and blocking.
Mariya "Masha" Ackerman- Teacher (Tots Program Head)
Masha has been a staple at Take the Stage for 4 years as the head of the Tots program. A preschool teacher by day, Masha has always had a love for teaching. She specializes in students ages 2.5-5. She has been dancing for 15+ years in a wide range of styles from tap to ballet and jazz. She is an award winning teacher and dancer and will spark a love for creative movement and dance in her students.
Jordan Wilson- Substitute Teacher (Tumbling Program Head)
Jordan dancing for roughly 17 years. She has been trained in everything from ballet to tap to jazz to hip hop to ballroom styles to pointe and the list goes on. Jordan was a competition dancer for the past 10 years in both groups and solos in all forms of dance. Jordan specializes in contemporary and jazz/hip hop. She has with multiple dance studios which taught hermultiple styles of teaching to create her form of teaching. Jordan has taught dance for the past 5 years along side of coaching gymnastics as well. Currently Jordan studies nursing at Wilkes University, where she is also a member of the cheerleading squad and the dance team.
Allyson Sebolka- Substitute Teacher
Ally has been a dancer for almost her whole life. At the age of 3 she began dance and the love for all things performing arts followed. She is an award winning dancer holding many high titles from multiple competitions. Ally specializes in tap, jazz, and ballet but has trained in all forms of dance. She currently substitutes at the studio while being a full time communications major at Wilkes University. Ally has also been a cheerleader and a member of the DHS dance team. With training in dance, theater, and voice Ally is a performing arts triple threat.
Amanda Kornak- Artistic Director (Ballet Program Head)
Amanda has been a staple at the studio since it's infancy. Having graduated out of the dance program, Amanda continued teaching dance regularly until 2017. Amanda has trained in all styles of dance and teaches tap, jazz, modern, pointe, and ballet. When Amanda is not teaching she is a full time event coordinator. Aside from dance Amanda has trained for multiple years in voice and has performed in 20+ theater shows.
Amanda Connell- Teacher (Advanced Program Head)
Mandy is the current Adult Tap Teacher at Take the Stage. She has studied multiple forms of dance and has been teaching for 10+ years. Mandy has trained and taught at many dance studios throughout the area and is known for her love of tap dance. An award winning teacher and choreographer she brings out the best in all her students. Currently Mandy is a full time mom and professor at a local university.
